Surfing in and around Newquay & Cornwall

Take to the waves on Cornwall’s north coast.

Cornwall – the home of surfing

Cornwall is synonymous with surfing and it has to be one of the county’s best-known activities. Newquay’s Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay are recognised worldwide for their swells, and surf schools operate along the coast at several locations, ready for those seeking tuition or equipment hire.

Annual surf competitions are held at both beaches, and summer wouldn’t be the same around Newquay without a few days of festival fever taking over.

Surfing is great in all seasons, and the variety of beaches and bays on the Atlantic north coast mean there’s always something new to experience.
